There are a lot of internet marketing plans and programs out on the internet. Some work but a lot of them don't work very well. As you go around the internet examining the plans and maybe thinking about purchasing one to help promote an online business venture, there is something that needs to be considered.
A lot of these programs have outstanding track records when selling the program to others via small webpages with mostly blatant text. There is a good reason they can make the claims they do. It's because they are telling the truth but not giving you the truth. They make money for their producers and some of their followers because they are all selling to people who want to make money. However, the ones who actually make money are the people selling the internet marketing plans. In the end, most of these programs work around selling to other people who then sell the product to other people who want to make money. It's a lot like multi-level marketing without the "multi-level" part.
Everyone has met someone who had tried a bunch of different multi-level marketing programs in an effort to start a "ready-made" business. A lot of Internet Marketing programs are very similar. They entice people into purchases based on the need to make money. These products are not geared towards selling to individuals who have something to sell but to individuals who are willing to sell the program itself or make fake products and websites that make money off advertising based on freebie articles and programs found on the internet.
There are many tales of Internet Marketing gurus with stories of struggling to finally make it before landing this single program that turned their life around. This should be a loud and clear warning. Their sudden success is not due to their current "program". The truth is that over the course of their failures, they have built a list of contacts who would like money. These people are a ready-made market for the next money-making marketing program. These people have spent thousands of dollars on a series of programs just to build the list of people to keep marketing their programs. They are actually in the business of finding people who want to make money, not build a business based on a solid product. Another issue with these programs is that they product is the marketing plan iself and not necessarily a product a legitimate business sells. These people are in the business of selling hope.
These Internet Marketing plans make money for the people with the largest lists. Its important to understand that these lists are made up of a group of people who responded to an advertisement about making money. Making money is the strong motivator. The question "Do you want to make money?" is something most people will only have one answer.
While these programs entice people to buy the program, they are not designed to work for all products. The advertisements appeal to people who need money which does not necessarily match the wants and needs of a business in a specific industry.
The email subscription pages are designed to look inexpensive. They target people who want money but may not have much to start out their business. The "inexpensive" look of the subscription page is an enticement. The ad addresses a need in a way that looks like anyone can do it. They hit a secondary pain point which is personal skills.
The moral of this story is that these advertisements target people who want to make money. They do not target people who need or want your particular product or service. Furthermore, the marketing plans are designed to be sold by their own customers. Realistically most of the industry sells to other people who want to make money but do not have a product. They are turning their customers into their competition. Most of the information they contain is freely available on the internet. The only price you pay is the time it takes to find the information. It's also something most legitimate web marketing, design and development companies offer as a service.
