My name is Desirea Herrera. I’ve done a ton of stuff over my lifetime. I went from college to riding racehorses at the racetrack (not just any old racehorses, million dollar racehorses) then onward to becoming a IT Nerd and geek. I’ve been online since 1996 and seen the web evolve from flashing text to Flash enabled websites. I’ve been doing web and software design and development since 1996. I’ve been working in the IT training industry since 2000 where I learned and taught multiple things about computer programs and programming. I’m a certified Microsoft Solution Developer and Microsoft Certified Trainer.  I’m also certified in Help Desk with HDI and CIW certified. I now have an alphabet soup to attach to my name.

Over the years, I've done projects aside from my previous job of technical training. Not all of them have been successful. However, the successful projects have been a combination of good communication between my client and myself.  You play a huge role in the success of your project. If you don't participate, you get what you don't expect and don't want but you still have to pay for it.  There just is not any other way to say it.

On the other hand, the good projects have been a combination of good communication and reasonable expectations from both sides. I realize that my clients are not programmers or particularly technically inclined. It's ok to not know or understand the technology because that is my job.  I do my best to make sure that my clients understand the technology by describing it in terms they already know. That means, no big words unless I explain the big words.
